Elaine Carbines joins the regions benchmark in ethical banking

Elaine Carbines joins AWA Alliance Bank as a Director of the Board.  Elaine, currently CEO of G21, brings with her a wealth of experience in politics and community initiatives. She has always been engaged with the community solving local issues from environmental to social, always with a purpose to make Geelong a better place to live.

Elaine’s career has been diverse. She worked as a humanities teacher in Victorian State Schools during the 80s and 90s before entering State Parliament.  She currently holds the following positions:

  • Director, Institute of Public Administration Australia, Victoria Branch
  • Director, G Force Board
  • Member, Barwon South West Regional Development Australia Committee

  • Member, Funds for the Future Board
  • Member, Great Ocean Road Taskforce

Elaine spoke of her excitement to join AWA with its long history of serving the Geelong community. “I am particularly impressed by the financial support that AWA Alliance Bank gives to important local philanthropic organisations such as the Give Where You Live Foundation and also many sporting clubs including Basketball Geelong and the East Belmont Cricket Club.

Being the first woman director of AWA Alliance Bank, I hope to bring a new perspective to the board by contributing to its future growth, building on its highly regarded membership services and expanding its partnerships with the community.”
