Recognising and celebrating good in our communities

The Do Good Awards aim to acknowledge community members, Alliance Bank Partner Members and staff that have made an outstanding contribution and have positively impacted the lives of others and their community.

The Awards provide the opportunity to share the stories and celebrate the wonderful contributions people in our communities make to address social, environmental or community needs.

Do Good Community Award Finalists

• Ange Liston-McCaughley for her work supporting people with type 1 diabetes.
• Brandon Dellow, advocate for mental health, cultural diversity, equal opportunites, human rights and more.
• Gerry Gillespie, environmental advocate, resource recovery consultant and land management champion.
• Donna Lauder for giving a voice to people with communication difficulties.
• Lindsay O'Conner for intuitively understanding the needs of her community and stepping up.
• Pat Cleggett for her tireless work with the Partners of Veterans Association.
• Nick Losurdo for his work with C3 Community.
• Rebecca Picone, founder of Peace of Mind Foundation, supporting those affected by brain cancer.
• Sue White for establishing the Scullin Community Group to build better connections within her community.

Do Good Team Award Finalists

• Jolene and Paul Adams, founders of Funky Hearts, a not-for-profit chuldren's play centre.
• Roger Van Cornewal and Robert Glenn for their role in establishing the Mens Shed in Bemboka.
• Southern Highlands Association of Women (SHAW) for supporting women experiencing domestic violence, homelessness and physical and mential illness.
• The Community Chest Volunteers for their services in assisting people in crisis.
• Wingescaribee SES Unit that continually go above and beyond the call to assist everyone who comes to greif or needs help in the area.

Do Good Business Award Finalists

• Cherished Pets Community Veterinary Care for facilitating companionship between vunerable people within the community and pets.
• Cherri on Top, for supporting mental health within the Performing Arts industry.
• Green Life Design Pty. Ltd  for work in sustainlblity with a focus of early childhood education,
• Kenshi Candles, a social enterprise helping people in need across the world.
• Robb Roofing and Consulting for a broad range of services to the local community.
• Little Waste Co. for work in the area of environmental sustainability.
• Issac Delivers, a delivery service advocating independence and entrepreneurship for people with disability.

Award categories

• Do Good Community Award: acknowledges an outstanding community contribution by an individual.
• Do Good Team Award: acknowledges an outstanding community contribution made by a team of two or more.
• Do Good Business Award: acknowledges a business that has community purpose at the core of its strategy and delivers outcomes that enrich the social, economic or environmental wellbeing of a community.
• Do Good Outstanding Achievement Award (judges nomination): the highest honour that can be awarded to an individual, team or business - recognises their contribution to enriching the social, environmental, emotional, physical or economic wellbeing of a community. Note, this award will be decided by the judges from the three categories of finalists.

One prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the winner of each category.

Award criteria

• Nominees will have made a significant contribution that has improved the lives of people in their local community.
• Nominees are recognised as a role model by their peers and/or community.

How it works

There are two key questions that form part of the online submission process:

• Why are you nominating yourself or this person for a Do Good Award?
• How has the nominee positively impacted the lives of others?

Nominate yourself, a colleague or a member of your local community, complete the form and submit it online. Nominees will be notified by their local Alliance Bank to ensure they are happy being nominated and to share their story.

Winners will be announced on February 3rd 2019.
